An Unquestionable Leader, a Threat to Democracy

ASAD ANWER

The main features of democracy are the decent of the public and the power to question the government.
The leader must be answerable to the citizens, even to them who have not voted for him. The leader should be the one who is chosen by us and should rule according to the general interest and wishes of the people.
In today's India, the government has become unquestionable; the government has targeted the weakest point of the common people of India, i.e. communalism and hatred towards some other community.
The government has made the majority believe that what is being done wrong in our country is because of the minority and the most important work is to get rid of minority.
The government has, via different means, injected so much hatred among the majority that they have actually started believing that some 14% of people are major threat to the 80% of population and the majority has started believing that the main need of the hour is to get rid of minority and now the government has started hiding it's incompetency behind this issue. No matter what happens around the people, they have now left questioning the government and have started believing that no matter development takes place or not, but the government is doing everything to get rid of minority and that’s the only thing which matters.
The present government has got hold of the weakest part in humans, that is, his emotion.

The small portion of society who actually dares to question the government are suppressed in the name of liberandu , mulla , sickular and what not. The government has a well setup media and social media team to do this.

A country where questioning the government is anti-national, where speaking for human rights is anti-national, I fear how long the democracy will prevail here.
