Is Any Religion Against Humanity?

ANVISHA SINGH

We have been told since childhood that India is a secular country, people from all religions are our brothers and sisters and we were always proud of this fact. But maybe we never adapted it in our real life and when we see now it is just fading away.

For some people, religion is their main identity and they work accordingly, be it anything against humanity. There are so many huge religious organisations or cadre teaching and misguiding people to be part of their organisations and work under strict line of religion. They are teaching subjugation of the opposite religion, which instills hatred among the people, leading to riots in the country.

Few political and even spiritual leaders discriminate people on the basis of religion which could be witnessed in their speeches, that how they instigate a certain group of people against someone. But what else can we expect them to do when they themselves are part of the religious organisations, which should not exist in first place because of the obnoxious and implausible hatred they spread. Since last six to seven months, we all have witnessed the uneasy situation of India, people are fighting among themselves, blaming their opposite religions and the worst are those who are spreading fake news to man some money and the people who are turning peaceful protests violent. But the benefit of this goes to those unethical leaders whose ideologies are shame to humanity and our nation.

Politicians usually urge to solve religious problems first so that they can escape  from the real and basic issues of the country and sometimes the media is also helping them to escape by giving every problem a religious twist and by hiding the problem and misguiding the people . Surprisingly some of them are also paid for this so that the common man’s focus shifts from the main problem to the religious one and they start blaming a certain religion.

Many nations are under-developed because of their emphasis on religion and we can count India among them now as the situation is suggesting. So we need to start thinking of the development of the nation and work together keeping aside our religions and we should also start questioning the government in power and the media so that they cannot manipulate us with the religious game and start working over the problems like economy , education and unemployment. We need to support the government in this because religious riots gives only distress situations which no one wants but if we see beyond religion we can get a happy and developed nation.

Editor’s Note: The changing definition of ‘secularism’ in current times is worrisome. We hope to work together and break the religious barriers. Let’s stop bringing religion in between everything.
