MOB MENTALITY: A THREAT TO JUSTICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM

The major feature of
a democratic country is the set system for everything, from choosing a leader
to hanging a rapist. We have a system for delivering justice to wrongdoers and
it is a system we all should respect, but since last few years the people of
India have likely ignored the set process of justice and rather prefer taking the
situation into their own hands and delivering justice. The mob has no voice as
we know, so the mob has no mind, no rational thinking, nothing so the ‘justice’
delivered by the mob is fully a failure and threat to a set system of justice
and administration of the country.
Few recent examples of mob mentality can be seen when a group of people were labelled as fascist or liberandu, on the mere assumption that if someone is carrying a cow even for farming, then just because that person belongs to a certain community, he shall mob lynched. The mob not only lynches, but also appreciates the act. Even those who silently or openly support the act are also from mob mentality.
Our country has been mostly running on emotions and the majority is eager to establish a rule by themselves rather than due procedure of law. When mob delivers ‘justice’, the set judicial system loses its credibility. The government and administration should rather focus on curbing this mob mentality and should make people believe in the set judicial system because as we all know if the mob starts delivering justice then nothing can stop our country from going deep down and loosing itself because of its own people .
So we should work towards erasing the mob mentality and the so-called mob justice because every act needs to be dealt by its own procedure of law. Even Kasab who was seen firing on hundreds of people was allowed to appear in the court of law and keep his point. This is the beauty of our country and not that a mob decides on anybody’s life. So it will be better if we learn to believe in the set process of law rather than taking the law in our own hands.

Note: Mob lynching must be questioned. The citizens have faith in the law and
thus, we expect justice at the hands of the court. We also expect our courts
and our government to take a stand against mob lynching. Mob lynching is
definitely not one of the things by which India would want itself to be
recognized in the near future.
If you also have something to write about or speak about, do
it now. We encourage our audience to be the ‘voice of change’.
