Virodh Avashya karo, lekin sirf Virodh karne ke liye Virodh mat karo

UTKARSH SRIVASTAVA

People often say that the ruling party in India misuses its power. This statement might be true. However, this article is about the opposition. The very simple reason of not keeping it around proposition is that a lot of people talk about the powers of proposition, forgetting that there are certain powers with the opposition too.
Before beginning with my article, I want my readers to answer one question: “Do you think even opposition sometimes misuses its power?” Many of you might say 'NO'. To them who think no is the answer, I want you to ask yourself the same question once you have completed reading my article.
In a democracy, everyone has the right to question the government/MP/MLA or anyone they give vote to. It is the responsibility of the government and respective officials to respond and answer them. Opposing for the sake of opposing is a matter of concern. We see a large number of people around us, criticizing the policies of the government, the decisions of the government, on every issue. Sometimes, they have facts to support them, sometimes they do not. Some of you might say, it is one's right to question the government as many times as one wants to. Therefore, I want to tell such people that:

विरोध अवश्य करो, लेकिन सिर्फ विरोध करने के लिए विरोध मत करो।

The upcoming generation of our country needs to understand that being a critic does not mean to oppose every single step taken by the government. If one has facts for criticism then it is very much valid. Criticism too should be a fair criticism and not unfair.
Many people oppose the government due to some personal reasons (which could be anything), but what they need to understand is that the decision taken by the government is for the public at large. If one really cares about the nation and if the policy has no flaws in it, one should think about the nation and keep aside their personal reasons for criticizing. Not every law made or decision taken by the government is by-default wrong. One does not have to criticize the government because he/she has the image of being a critic. However, by any means I do not intend or mean to say people should stop criticizing the government. If one has true and authentic information, he/she has the right to criticize/question on every topic. Democracy is not always subjected to criticism; it is subjected to appreciation as well.

Editor’s Note: We must learn to act maturely. Also, learn to have your own opinions and not blindly abide by your family’s opinions. ‘Change’ requires questioning, but not unnecessarily.
If you also have something to write about or speak about, do it now. We encourage our audience to be the ‘voice of change’.
